About

Campuses

Marin Horizon School and Horizon Community School (HCS) are spread between three campuses in Mill Valley and Marin City. Marin Horizon encompasses the main campus and the Toddler Cottage, both in Mill Valley, while HCS occupies a space in Marin City. Students move thoughtfully and intentionally between the campuses, visiting each other often to experience the different campuses and as part of the buddy program.

Main Campus

Our main campus is located in the safe, quiet neighborhood of Homestead Valley, nestled among the redwood trees in the heart of Mill Valley. Primary through Middle School students are based on this campus. Over the course of 2019-20 school year a new building will be constructed on this campus. Learn more about our building project here.

Toddler Cottage

The Toddler Cottage is located on Miller Avenue, less than a mile from our main campus. The Toddlers are the only students at the Cottage, which feels like a true home away from home. Frequent trips to the main campus expose Toddlers to the larger school community, and prepare them to join the Primary program.

Horizon Community School

Horizon Community School is located on Donahue Avenue in Marin City, just 10 minutes south of our Main Campus. Currently in the midst of a transition, the school will be moving to a larger location adjacent to St. Andrew Presbyterian Church to accommodate our growing number of students.
Our mission is to challenge students to be self-reliant thinkers and lifelong learners. We inspire academic excellence, nurture students’ natural love of learning, and encourage them to be confident, creative individuals who are responsible to each other, the community, and the world.
