Toddler Program Admissions Process

Students entering our Toddler program must be two years old by September 1st.

  • Tours & Events

    Throughout the admissions season there will be several tours of the toddler program. You can sign up for a tour through your Ravenna account. 
    • Tour dates: 10/6/2022, 11/10/2022, 12/1/2022, 1/5/2023, 1/26/2023
  • Application

    The online application is accessed through your Ravenna account. The application is due January 13, 2023. All applications will be evaluated after the due date.
  • Parent Interview

    The parent interview is approximately 30 minutes, and can be done in-person or via Zoom. The interview is an opportunity for families to ask questions about Marin Horizon and the admissions process, and for us to learn more about your family and your student. After we have received your completed application, we will contact you to schedule a parent interview.
  • Toddler Student Visit

    Families who have submitted an application are eligible to attend. Toddler student visits will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023, from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Families will be notified of their predetermined time slot prior to the student visit.

Primary Program Admissions Process

The Primary program consists or two years, and is for three and four year olds. First-year-primary students must be three years old by September 1st. Second-year-primary students must be four years old by September 1st. We have four mixed-age primary classrooms consisting of both first- and second-year-primary students.

  • Application

    The online application is accessed through your Ravenna account. The application is due January 13, 2023. All applications will be evaluated after the due date.
  • Parent Interview

    The parent interview is approximately 30 minutes, and can be done in-person or via Zoom. The interview is an opportunity for families to ask questions about Marin Horizon and the admissions process, and for us to learn more about your family and your student. After we have received your completed application, we will contact you to schedule a parent interview.
  • Primary Student Visit

    Families who have submitted an application are eligible to attend. Date and time TBA. 

Kindergarten Admissions Process

Kindergarten students must be five years old by September 1st. Kindergarten is an entry point and we welcome approximately 10-12 new students every year.

    • Tour dates: 10/13/2022, 11/17/2022, 12/8/2022, 1/12/2023
  • Application

    The online application is accessed through your Ravenna account. The application is due January 13, 2023. All applications will be evaluated after the due date.
  • Additional Application Materials

    1. The teacher recommendation is optional.
  • Parent Inteview

    The parent interview is approximately 30 minutes, and will be done in-person or via Zoom. The interview is an opportunity for families to ask questions about Marin Horizon and the admissions process, and for us to learn more about your family and your student. After we have received your completed application, we will contact you to schedule a parent interview.
  • Kindergarten Student Visit

    Families who have submitted an application are eligible to attend. Kindergarten student visits will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023. Families will be notified of their predetermined time slot prior to the student visit. 

Grades 1-4 Admissions Process

Availability in grades 1-4 is variable. Please contact admissions@marinhorizon.org and we'd be happy to let you know if there is space in the grade you are interested in.

    2. The teacher recommendation and transcripts must be received prior to the student visit.

    The parent interview is approximately 30 minutes, and this year will be in-person or via Zoom. The interview is an opportunity for families to ask questions about Marin Horizon and the admissions process, and for us to learn more about your family and your student. After we have received your completed application, we will contact you to schedule a parent interview.
  • Student Visit

    Students applying to grades 1-4 will have individual visit days scheduled. The admissions department will contact families after the application deadline (January 13, 2023) to set up a visit day and time.

Grades 5-8 Admissions Process

Grades 5-8 comprise the Upper School. Sixth grade is an entry point, and we welcome approximately 8 new students every year. Entry into grades 7 and 8 is based on space availability, please email admissions@marinhorizon.org to inquire about entering into these grades.

    • Tour dates: 10/20/2022, 11/3/2022, 12/15/2022, 1/19/2023
  • Application

    The online application is accessed through your Ravenna account. The application is due January 13, 2023. All applications will be evaluated after the due date.
  • Additional Application Materials

    1. Student applicants to the upper school grades (5-8) must complete a student essay form, which they can access through Ravenna.
    2. A teacher recommendation and transcript are required.
    3. The teacher recommendation and transcripts must be received prior to the student visit.
  • Parent Interview

    The parent interview is approximately 30 minutes and can be done in-person or via Zoom. The interview is an opportunity for families to ask questions about Marin Horizon and the admissions process, and for us to learn more about your family and your student. After we have received your completed application, we will contact you to schedule a parent interview.
  • Student Visit

    Families who have submitted an application are eligible to attend. The student visit for students going into 5th and 6th grade will be held on March 1, 2023, from 8:20 a.m.-3:15 p.m. Students going into 7th and 8th grade will be held on March 2, 2023, from 8:20 a.m.-3:15 p.m. 
Our admissions process is facilitated through the Ravenna website. Please create a Ravenna account and locate Marin Horizon in the school directory. Click "Apply." There you will find the specific steps required for your family to submit a complete application! Applications for both admissions and tuition support are due on Friday, January 13, 2023. Applications submitted before the deadline will not receive priority; we will evaluate everything received up until the deadline equally. We look forward to getting to know your family!
