Our next Parent Ed event, “Words Matter: Talking to Your Kids About Race”, will take place on Wednesday, May 15th at 6:00 p.m., and will be facilitated by Elizabeth Denevi, the Associate Director for East Ed, a non-profit agency that works with schools nationally to increase equity and promote diversity pedagogy. The discussion of race and racial differences may not be a daily conversation in your household and may be challenging if not intuitive, but it is critical in the process of developing culturally and racially conscious people. Our children are not color-blind and at all ages, they are slowly developing their own identity. We believe providing children with the language and skills to navigate, maneuver and connect in an increasingly diverse landscape is a critical, shared goal and responsibility.
This event is free and open to the public. We hope you are able to join us.
