Update 6/14/2019: Beginning Stages of Construction

Dear Marin Horizon and Neighborhood Families,

After wrapping up my first school year at Marin Horizon, I am excited about breaking ground on our building project this summer, and want to let you know what to expect over the next several months.

We will be mobilizing for construction the first week of July, which includes erecting fencing, implementing safety measures, bringing in a job trailer, and posting signage. We expect to start construction after the July 4th holiday.

Throughout July the project will focus on demolition of the existing building, excavation, and relocation of utilities. In August, we will begin foundation work, including digging, installing rebar, and pouring cement. During this time, trucks will be bringing in materials to the site and taking away off-haul. We have requested from the building department of Marin County for trucks to be directed onto Evergreen Avenue, and we anticipate approval of this request. No construction trucks will be using Montford Avenue. Along with truck delivery routes, the building department of Marin County will also be mandating our hours of construction.

I will continue to provide updates on the project as we move forward. Please contact me (bill@marinhorizon.org) if you have any questions about the content of this letter. If you have more specific questions about the project, please contact our project manager, Ted Lieser, at ted@ecbsf.com.

    Warm Regards,

    Bill Perrine
    Head of School
