MLK Day of Service and Family Potluck

Our students, teachers, and staff celebrated a day of service in honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Friday, March 25th. Working with their buddies, the students engaged in various activities around theme of  “belonging," learning about the importance of biodiversity and environmental sustainability. They also considered their own sense of belonging and reflected and wrote poetry to express their thoughts on the subject. The day ended with a special assembly where students shared their poems in buddy pairs.
In the evening, our community enjoyed a “What’s Your Dumpling?” potluck to acknowledge and celebrate multiculturalism at Marin Horizon. About 120 people joined the potluck event, including Marin Horizon and Horizon Community School students and families, toddler through 8th grade, and staff, faculty, and administration.
