Our Students | Your Children

Marin Horizon School students are a diverse group of individuals representing a variety cultures and socio-economic backgrounds. Many attend from the neighborhood and some from as far away as San Francisco, Stinson Beach and Northern Marin county. Our confident, caring students are respectful of one another, their instructors, and the school environment.  Our values-based education is a natural extension of the generosity and compassion that students experience each day in dynamic and engaging classes. From their multi-age classroom collaboration, outdoor adventures, and service learning, our students form strong bonds and lifelong friendships.

Our Faculty

Everyone is so busy and overscheduled these days—children and parents alike. Too often, we don’t have extended family or a “village” to offer support, relieve the pressure, or provide the intimate community that we know helps children thrive. Marin Horizon School's small campus and enrollment foster a tight-knit community where teachers are able to follow each student’s progress throughout their educational journey.

Our faculty is exceptionally close and collaborative. This translates into highly creative lessons and curricula that are continuously reevaluated and evolving to ensure their quality and relevance. It means students aren’t just handed off from one teacher to the next year after year. Rather, the whole team knows and keeps a caring eye on each student. And it means families have a teaching team with a range of talent and skills to help them address any challenges that may arise with their children.

Our Families

Community is important at Marin Horizon - within school, among families, and in our extended neighborhoods and the world. Lifelong friendships are formed in our community of down-to-earth, open-minded families. We offer many ways in which the whole family can connect with and through the school.

A highly active and deeply committed parent community engages in the Marin Horizon educational experience by supporting teachers in classrooms, on field and overnight trips, and by serving on school committees.

Our Parent Association sponsors fundraising events, including a highly successful Annual Art Auction, an event the entire community looks forward to each year. We also gather as a community to celebrate occasions such as Halloween, Earth Day and a cherished Grandparents & Special Friends event. Ours is a warm and welcoming family community.
