Technology at Marin Horizon

As the culmination of our program, the middle school years are all about developing the ability to engage in abstract thinking and to synthesize and analyze complex issues. Seventh and eighth grade students participate in grade-based classes along with a mixed age, choice-based arts courses. The program is strongly project-based, with a focus on integrated, hands-on learning. Outdoor education, service learning, and advisory programs support students’ growth in study skills, organization, self-knowledge, resilience, and empathy. Seventh and eighth graders act as mentors and leaders of the school community in student leadership roles, on the playground, and in buddy classes.

Digital Citizenship

Marin Horizon School uses Common Sense Media as well as other resources to integrate the teaching of media literacy and digital citizenship into the school’s curriculum.
