Board of Trustees

Peter is a resident of Mill Valley with his spouse, Megan Lisska, and two children, James and Eleanor ’28. Peter has been a member of the Marin Horizon community for 10 years and is currently the Chair. He has worked in the construction and development industry for 25 years. Currently, he is a partner at TMG Partners and previously worked for the Golden State Warriors, where he was responsible for the construction and development of Chase Center and the surrounding mixed-use development. Peter holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (B.S.E.) from Duke University.

A resident of Mill Valley and parent of Ronan ’26, Jennifer joined the Board in 2020, and currently serves as the Board's Vice Chair, and Chair of the Committee on Trustees. She is also currently a member of the Executive Committee of the Marin Horizon School Community Association ("CA"), having served as President and other CA roles in prior years. Jennifer is also a Board member at the Homestead Valley Community Association and one of the organizers of the annual Homestead Valley Music Festival. Previously, Jennifer worked in the legal technology industry as a consultant to corporate in-house legal teams and law firm litigation departments, and prior to that, she was an attorney specializing in Labor and Employment litigation for close to 10 years. Jennifer holds a B.A. with Honors in the Administration of Justice from the Pennsylvania State University and a J.D. from Temple University.

Bill is the Head of School at Marin Horizon School. He began his headship in 2018. Bill began his educational career in the Bay Area as a math teacher at The Town School for Boys. He continued his career at the Bancroft School in Worcester, MA and served as Middle School Head at Friends Academy in North Dartmouth, MA for ten years before moving to Oak Meadow as its Head of School in 2012. He has a Bachelor of Arts from Hamilton College and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of San Francisco.

Tatem lives in Mill Valley, California with her husband, Bay Area native Morgan Read, and her two children Carter and James. She holds a B.A. degree in English from the University of Virginia. Tatem is Owner and Principal at Heldfond Read Art Advisory, a full-service art advising firm. Tatem advises private clients on building art collections of the highest caliber. Before that, Tatem served as Director at Berggruen Gallery in San Francisco, the premier commercial art gallery for modern and contemporary art on the West Coast. She has served on the boards of the Bay Area Discovery Museum, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, one of the nation’s largest artist residency programs, the Ellett Board of St. Catherine’s School in Richmond, Virginia, and the MCM Foundation as well as the Development Committee for Marin Horizon School.

A resident of Mill Valley and parent of Sawyer ‘24 and Alexander ’27. Ryan has worked in the finance industry for 20 years. He started his career at the Federal Reserve before earning his PhD in finance at the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley. Afterwards Ryan moved to Switzerland with his wife, Sarah, where he worked as an economist for an international central bank organization, the BIS. From there, Ryan started his career in asset management at Acadian Asset Management. Since then his focus has been on managing and guiding research on building quantitative investment strategies. In particular, Ryan focused on predicting stock returns using statistical techniques and various machine learning techniques. Following a move to Citadel, Ryan has joined the Aperio Group located in nearby Sausalito.

A resident of Tiburon and parent to Anika ‘24, Rohit joined the Board in 2016 and currently serves on the Executive committee. Previously, Rohit was the Co-Chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, the Chair of the Development Committee, and a group leader with the Innovative Revenue Initiative, an ad-hoc committee of the Board. Rohit was formerly the General Manager for Education for Amazon where he led Amazon’s efforts to deliver digital curriculum, content platforms, and consumer reading products for the K-12 education market.

Natasha and her family have lived in Mill Valley since 2013. She is the mom of Ruby (6th grade) and Sonny (4th grade), who have been at the school for four years. Natasha currently serves as the Community Association President and joined the board in 2025. She holds a B.S. in Child Development from the University of Arizona and a Master’s in Education from Cambridge College in Boston. Natasha spent 13 years teaching elementary education in both public and private schools. In 2023, she transitioned into the travel industry and is now a Travel Advisor with Fora Travel. Inspired by her own love of exploring the world, she now channels that passion into helping others craft memorable, enriching travel experiences.

Kelley is a Primary lead teacher at Marin Horizon. She was raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelors in teaching. Her long-held desire to teach led to her training as a Montessori Teacher and eventual certification in Montessori Teaching in Elementary. Kelley also holds a Masters in Education from Loyola University Maryland, and teaching credentials from California and Michigan.

Kelley has been teaching for 24 years, with the last nine years here at Marin Horizon School. She is passionate about instilling a love of learning in children. She also likes to play pool, roller skate, read, cook, and spend time with her family. Her daughter Jamison is a third grader at Marin Horizon! Kelley feels lucky to have the dual perspective of a teacher and a parent.

Mother of Lucca (‘30), Charmaine was born in Hong Kong and grew up in various parts of the U.S., but Mill Valley has been home for 10+ years. Charmaine joined the board in 2024. Her commitment to the community includes leading the Spring Auction Event (2022) and the Spring Art Walk (2023). Charmaine is currently spearheading the Faculty and Staff Appreciation Luncheons in addition to a myriad of other roles in between. She holds both a Graduate Gemologist degree from the Gemological Institute of America and a degree in metalsmithing from The Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts in San Francisco, with which she established her own jewelry company for several years. She also has a creative background in darkroom photography, knitting, and most currently ceramics. Charmaine graduated from Brown University with a B.A. in East Asian Studies, specializing in Chinese language.

A resident of Mill Valley and parent to Rachel Malvin '26, Mira currently serves on the Finance Committee and has been a member of the Marin Horizon community since 2013. Mira has worked in brand marketing and the consumer-packaged goods industry for 25 years at the Clorox Co. She is currently CEO/owner of a design/build firm for solar and battery storage systems for residential and commercial markets and oversees a finance entity that funds solar projects for non-profits. Mira holds a B.A. from University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A from the University of Chicago.

A resident of Mill Valley and parent to Harper ’27 and Logan ’30, Lexy currently serves on the Committee on Trustees. Lexy is also the Community Advisory Board Chair of the Heart and Armor Foundation for Veterans Health, creating and directing a community advocacy and support group for Bay Area veterans programming and health science research.

Previously, Lexy practiced corporate finance law at Katten Muchin Rosenman and chapter 11 bankruptcy litigation at Foley & Lardner. Upon moving to the Bay Area, she continued to represent secured creditors in commercial litigation at the law firm of Davis Wright Tremaine before becoming a Director of Legal Recruiting with Lateral Link. Lexy is a member of the California State Bar.

Lexy holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Kentucky and a J.D. from Vanderbilt University.

Ashley is a Mill Valley resident and parent of Gracie '24 and Poppy '26. She currently sits on the Site and Sustainability Committee of the Marin Horizon Board and has been an active member of the Marin Horizon Community Association since 2014. She is also President of the Homestead Valley Community Association and has served on that Board since 2018. She has had a career in environmental consulting and accounting and has also worked at a number of non-profit environmental organizations over the years. She holds a B.A. in Anthropology and Religion from Trinity College and an M.B.A from Babson College.

Trigg is a Larkspur resident and parent of Livie 15‘ and William ‘17. She currently sits on the Horizon Community School Steering Committee. She served as Board Chair of Marin Horizon School from 2010 to 2014. She enjoyed a career in book publishing in Atlanta, New York, and Berkeley. She holds a B.A. in English from Princeton University. She is an active volunteer with Homeward Bound of Marin and Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Jesse Pearson teaches humanities in the Middle School at Marin Horizon School. He has been a faculty member since 2013. He was also a student at MHS from 1977 to 1986. This is his second stint on the Board of Trustees. He and his wife, Amy, live in Mill Valley and have three children. His oldest daughter graduated from MHS in 2019. His son is a graduate of Mount Tamalpais School and attends Tamalpais High School. His youngest daughter is currently at MHS. In his spare time he writes extensively about education and family. His essays have been published by NAIS and McSweeney Internet Tendency.

Rossie is a Panamanian-American environmental advocate and development strategist focused on the connection between environmental justice, wildlife corridors and women's leadership. Her work promotes ecological stewardship that prioritizes climate mitigation, forest restoration, soil regeneration, and sustainable living practices. Rossie has over 10 years teaching experience and has a Masters degree in education and obesity prevention from the University of Texas-Austin. She is a certified Nutritional Therapist (Nutritional Therapy association) and  serves on the board of Rachel's Network, TIgre Gente and is the President of the Board of ProEco Azuero. She is the proud mama to MHS students Ezra and Mateo. 

Elisabeth lives in San Francisco with her husband, Dod Fraser, and three children, Claire (’23), Jack (’25), and Lindy (’28). Her family has been part of the Marin Horizon community for eight years. With over two decades of experience in research, policy, and brand strategy, Elisabeth honed her skills at Stanford University(M.A.), Columbia University(M.A., doctoral candidate), and SRI International. Her work has shaped policy development and messaging at the federal, state, and local levels for initiatives in education, public health, and urban revitalization, and her political analysis has been published by the Brookings Institution and Teachers College Press. As a brand consultant, she uses actionable, human-centered research to uncover stakeholder perspectives and shape strategic priorities for a wide range of organizations—from nonprofits and educational institutions to global brands, including Adobe, Hyatt, and Meta.

Kathryn Cahill Thompson lives in Tam Valley and is a parent to Avery '26, Scotland '28, and Cormac '31. She is CEO of Cahill Contractors LLC, a Bay Area general contractor based in San Francisco. She is the 4th generation to lead her family business, having joined the company in 2007 and been CEO since 2016. Prior to Cahill, Kathryn worked in management consulting, nonprofit strategy consulting, and education. Kathryn also serves on the Board of Directors of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, where she was 2023 Board Chair. Kathryn holds an A.B. in economics modified with geography from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
