POLICY PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
Personal Information Collected.
We maintain this Site for informational, fundraising and online giving purposes and in order to facilitate your interaction with us. At our Site, we only collect personally identifiable data when voluntarily and knowingly submitted by a visitor. You can have general access to our Site and browse pages describing our institution without providing any personal information or being required to register at our Site. However, you may not be able to access all parts of our Site or interact with us online without supplying personal information. For example, you may need to provide us with your personal information in order to complete online forms or applications or to facilitate your online giving, or to include your contact information in the online directory. If you ask to receive additional information, we will ask you to provide us with your personal information so we can contact you to respond to your request. If you wish to make an online donation, we will ask you to provide us with your personal information to facilitate the transaction. We also will receive your personal information if you submit it to us when you e-mail comments to the Site or if you complete surveys on our Site. If, as a MHS constituent, you register with the Site you will be provided with a Username and Password which you must provide to us to login and to obtain access to password protected portions of our Site.
Always remember that the choice to provide us with your personal information is your own and you can elect not to access portions of the Site or use Site features that would require you to submit your personal information to us on our Site.
Use and Disclosure of Information.
We use your personal information for five primary purposes:
To make the Site easier for you to use by not making you enter your personal information more than once.
To help you quickly find information regarding MHS, its alumni and parents, and other services we provide.
To help us create and deliver content most relevant to you.
To alert you to special events, volunteer opportunities, updated information and other news and information from MHS.
To fulfill or respond to a request from you, such as to register you for an event, include you in the online directory, respond to your admissions inquiry, or to send you notifications by text message or email.
We do not disclose any of your personal information to anyone unless you have given us permission to do so (such as permission to post on the Site’s online directory), and except as expressly set forth below.
We may share your information with individuals or companies that perform services for us, such as to our attorneys, and certain service providers, such as third-party web site hosts and financial institutions for the purposes of online giving. These service providers may have access to your information as needed to perform their functions, but may not use or disclose your information for other purposes.
We may also disclose your personal information if we believe such action is needed to: (1) comply with the law or any government or self-regulatory organization request or investigation, (2) protect against misuse or unauthorized access of this Site, or (3) protect the personal safety, property or rights of any member of the MHS community.
Non-Personal Information Collected
Visitors to our Site should be aware that non-personal information and data may be automatically collected by our Site. By tracking user trends and patterns of how people search, we can better understand our user base. This helps us deliver better and more personalized services, improve the content and administration of our Site, facilitate use of our Site by visitors, and diagnose problems with our server.
Shared Aggregating Data.We may share aggregate, statistical and other non-personal information with certain other third-parties with which we have a relationship. For example, we may share aggregate information or statistics or information you provide us as described above, which does not identify you personally, such as user volume and demographics, click-stream patterns and the domain name of the site from which visitors are connecting.
We are concerned with the safety and security of your sessions on our Site, the information you provide us online, and any transactions you conduct with us online. We have implemented and maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards consistent with standard protocols in the industry to help guard your nonpublic personal information, including protection against the loss, misuse, interception, access and alteration of information you send us. However, no method of data transmission over the Internet or data storage is 100% secure and therefore, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of any information transmitted to or from the Site.
Updating and Correcting Information.
If you need to change the personal information you have provided on the Site, you may update or correct this information by logging into your account and accessing the “My Profile” section within your account. We encourage you to update your personal information promptly if it changes.
In the “My Profile” section, you may also manage the personal information you choose to share on the Site’s online directory and the email notifications you receive from us. Please note that you cannot opt-out of receiving administrative and transaction-related emails from us.
This Site is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13, and no part of the Site is designed to attract anyone under the age of 13. If you become aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with Personal Information, we will remove and not use or maintain such information. We recommend that no one under the age of 18 submit personally identifiable information to our Site.

No Unlawful or Prohibited Use
As a condition of your use of the Marin Horizon School Web Site, you warrant to Marin Horizon School that you will not use the Marin Horizon School Web Site for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these terms, conditions, and notices. You may not use the Marin Horizon School Web Site in any manner which could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the Marin Horizon School Web Site or interfere with any other party's use and enjoyment of the Marin Horizon School Web Site. USE OF WEBSITE INFORMATION
Information provided on the Web Site, including but not limited to the online directory accessible to registered users and MHS staff directory is strictly for your personal school-related use, and may not be shared with third parties. Use of this information for private, commercial, or political mailings and/or distribution to any outside parties is prohibited.
You may download or print material from this Web Site only for your personal and non-commercial use. You may not otherwise modify, publish, transmit, participate in the transfer or sale of, reproduce, create derivative works of, distribute, publicly perform, publicly display, or in any way exploit any of the materials or content on the Web Site in whole or in part without our prior written permission.
USE OF COMMUNICATION SERVICES
The Marin Horizon School Web Site may contain bulletin board services, chat areas, news groups, forums, communities, personal web pages, calendars, and/or other message or communication facilities designed to enable you to communicate with the public at large or with a group (collectively, "Communication Services"). You agree to use the Communication Services only to post, send and receive messages and material that are proper and related to the particular Communication Service. By way of example, and not as a limitation, you agree that when using a Communication Service, you will not:
Defame, abuse, harass, stalk, threaten or otherwise violate the legal rights (such as rights of privacy and publicity) of others.
Publish, post, upload, distribute or disseminate any inappropriate, profane, defamatory, infringing, obscene, indecent or unlawful topic, name, material or information.

Upload files that contain viruses, corrupted files, or any other similar software or programs that may damage the operation of another's computer.
Advertise or offer to sell or buy any goods or services for any business purpose, unless such Communication Service specifically allows such messages.
Conduct or forward surveys, contests, pyramid schemes or chain letters.
Download any file posted by another user of a Communication Service that you know, or reasonably should know, cannot be legally distributed in such manner.
Falsify or delete any author attributions, legal or other proper notices or proprietary designations or labels of the origin or source of software or other material contained in a file that is uploaded.
Restrict or inhibit any other user from using and enjoying the Communication Services.

Marin Horizon School has no obligation to monitor the Communication Services. However, Marin Horizon School reserves the right to review materials posted to a Communication Service and to remove any materials in its sole discretion. Marin Horizon School reserves the right to terminate your access to any or all of the Communication Services at any time without notice for any reason whatsoever.
Marin Horizon School reserves the right at all times to disclose any information as necessary to satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request, or to edit, refuse to post or to remove any information or materials, in whole or in part, in Marin Horizon School's sole discretion.
Always use caution when giving out any personally identifying information about yourself or your children in any Communication Service. Marin Horizon School does not control or endorse the content, messages or information found in any Communication Service and, therefore, Marin Horizon School specifically disclaims any liability with regard to the Communication Services and any actions resulting from your participation in any Communication Service. Managers and hosts are not authorized Marin Horizon School spokespersons, and their views do not necessarily reflect those of Marin Horizon School.
Materials uploaded to a Communication Service may be subject to posted limitations on usage, reproduction and/or dissemination. You are responsible for adhering to such limitations if you download the materials.
MATERIALS PROVIDED TO MARIN HORIZON SCHOOL OR POSTED AT ANY MARIN HORIZON SCHOOL WEB SITE
Marin Horizon School does not claim ownership of the materials you provide to Marin Horizon School (including feedback and suggestions) or post, upload, input or submit to any Marin Horizon School Web Site or its associated services (collectively "Submissions"). YOUR ACCOUNT; RESTRICTED ACCESS
This Web Site includes certain restricted areas and information that are accessible only to members of the Marin Horizon School community. MHS parents, staff, trustees and alumni are provided with a user login and an initial password (which you are required to change). Please do not share your unique login and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login and password, and for restricting access to your computer. You also agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your login or password. You agree to immediately notify MHS of any unauthorized use of your password or login or any other breach of security.
Access to the restricted portions of the Web Site is limited to password holders and access rights vary by user and type of user. For example, parents will have access to the course pages for the classes their children are enrolled in and other pages associated with their class year and other school affiliations. Once you have an account, you may login in to view the restricted portions of the Web Site that are accessible to you and can also manage your profile, mobile alerts, subscriptions and other account information in your account settings.
